What to Expect During a Distance Reiki Session

Distance Reiki sessions at Your Sanctuary For Healing are conducted over the phone. To get the most benefit from your distance Reiki session, schedule your appointment when you can be in a private and comfortable space. Your practitioner will conduct an intake interview and you will have time to share and be listened to. The practitioner will conduct the session as she would a traditional in-person treatment. For purification of body and spirit, she will smudge you. Your Reiki Master will observe your energy centers remotely. Based on observations, she will select crystals to incorporate into the session to fortify and balance your energy field. She will send distance Reiki to you, working from head to toe, being sure to address each of the energy centers (chakras).

You may feel a deep sense of relaxation throughout the body. Your provider will check in with you during and following the session and give you the opportunity to share your experience. When you invite Reiki energy in by having a distance Reiki session, Reiki will remain with you for some time, supporting you energetically.

​We recommend having a distance Reiki session once a month to support general wellbeing. If you are going through a more challenging time, we recommend scheduling sessions weekly to every other week.

More About Reiki & Distance Reiki

Reiki is a Japanese word meaning “life energy.” The practice of Reiki is a gentle energetic technique that promotes healing through deep relaxation, stress reduction and opening and enriching the flow of energy through the body. Our energy, (Ki in Japanese and Chi in Chinese) can become depleted or blocked from the everyday stresses of life or trauma. When this occurs we typically experience sensations of tightness and discomfort in specific regions of the body.  In times of grief or heartache it is not uncommon to feel a weight on the chest or to have difficulty taking a full breath.  This is just one example of the many ways our mental or emotional turmoil is experienced in the body.  If this dis-ease  or blockage of energy persists, disease may develop. Through the infusion of calming Reiki energy, the client is able to relax and the body's ability to heal is enhanced. Reiki energy can be shared in person, both hands on or hands off.

Reiki practitioners with advanced training and Reiki Masters are also able to send Reiki remotely. This practice is referred to as distance Reiki. From our own personal experience as well as from responses from our clients, Distance Reiki sessions provide the same deep relaxation and peace as an in-person treatment.
