Care and Therapy for Sports Injuries

Sports injuries typically fall into one of two categories.  The first, trauma, is the most obvious and sometimes more straightforward to manage.  A sprained ankle, dislocated shoulder, or torn hamstring, are all examples of trauma. The other type of sports injury, repetitive stress injuries or “overuse injuries”, are not as dramatic, but can be just as painful.  They sometimes come on gradually over time as the level of training exceeds the body’s ability to recover between training sessions.  Areas of weakness often show up at this point as do muscle imbalances that cause mechanical problems as the levels of training or the time spent in training increases. Chiropractic care, massage therapy, and Reiki can all have an impact on healing after a sports injury.

Chiropractic Care for
Sports Injuries

Many sports injuries occur in the neck and the spine. These create multiple symptoms that Chiropractors can care for. These symptoms include swelling, burning, headaches, inflammation, muscle pains, and muscle spasm. If you are an avid athlete who is an enthusiast about tennis, biking, golf, football, basketball or soccer and suffer an injury, you should seek chiropractic care.

Massage Therapy for
Sports Injuries

From a sprained ankle or twisted knee to muscle spasms or broken bones, massage can provide the opportunity for faster recovery. With the pressure of the therapist's hands improving blood flow, muscles become warmer. Massage can encourage circulatory movement and muscle relaxation. As the muscles get stimulated more oxygen and nutrients gets distributed to tissues and vital organs. This allows the rehabilitating injured area to become more flexible and heal at an accelerated rate.

Reiki Service for
Sports Injuries

Also known as Sports Reiki, Reiki for sports injuries can help speed up the healing process but also prepare you to get back to the sport that you love. Some athletes return to their sport and get the same injury again. Even if the injury is related to a sprain, muscle strain, or tissue damage, the cause may be due to a lack of energy balance. Reiki after a sports injury can help you get back to the sport you love in better spiritual shape.
