Dearest Clients,
How are you doing?... We hope you have been taking good care of yourself as best you can.
Our family is doing well and we hope the same is true for you.
We have been trying to use our time wisely and for taking care of family.
Given the nature of the care we provide, we are required to implement new precautionary measures when we resume practice, once Multnomah County enters Phase One of re-opening.
We need to acquire some medical equipment, including a two week supply of medical grade face masks, gloves, smocks etc. Additional changes to our office and treatment rooms need to be made. There will also be additional sanitation measures implemented beyond the standard precautions we already practice.
Once we are able to re-open, there will be some new procedures in place to ensure safety and limit exposure. We will communicate those details when relevant.
We look forward to caring for you and we are hopeful that will be soon. We are sorry it has been so long. In the mean time, please take good care.
Sincerely,
Dr. Craig & Patty

Dearest clients,
We wanted to take some time to connect with you. Being care-givers, we miss taking care of you and we feel very badly that we are not able to at this time. It has been since March 23rd that we closed our practice doors, temporarily. Supporting you with health and wellness is our passion. Especially at a time of great need.
Making the decision to close our in-person office for the time being was not arrived at lightly. We thought it might be helpful to explain this difficult decision.
Federal guidelines include Chiropractors as "essential workers." In fact, in some more rural settings, a doctor of Chiropractic may be the only provider within the area to care for a broad range of medical needs for their patience. State guidance stipulates that only medical massage therapy is "essential." We agree the care we provide is essential to client wellness, but there are other factors to consider in our situation.
As you are aware, in the state of Oregon, Governor Brown's executive orders require us to stay home "to the greatest extent possible." and to maintain 6 feet social distance when in public. With methods utilized in our practice, providing care from 6 feet away is not feasible. If we were to remain open for urgent situations, we would need personal protective equipment (PPE). However, due to the shortage of PPE, we were directed by the Oregon Board of Chiropractic Examiners to turn in all PPE to the state, so it could be utilized for the Covid-19 emergency. We would also need to implement stringent protocols, such as using toxic cleansers, patients wearing gowns over their clothes, doctor wearing a gown, mask and gloves, and covering all cloth treatment devices (adjusting table) with plastic etc.
We have many elders and Veterans in our practice and their vulnerability is our utmost concern. Direction we have received from Veteran's affairs put it this way, "Please do not have Veterans attend routine appointments in-person except where the urgency of in-person treatment clinically outweighs the risk of contracting COVID-19." We are not willing to take this risk.
Another consideration we have made is that our practice is home-based. Although our business space and dwelling space are separate, the heating and cooling system serves both spaces. While SARS-CoV-2 is not considered to be transmitted through the air, we feel it safest to error on the side of precaution in this situation. We do not want to risk exposing you to germs from our motley crew, and we want to keep our family safe too!
During this time, we have been supporting Patty's parents, both of whom have heart conditions, and one awaiting surgery. So we must protect our own health and limit our exposure.
We remain here for for you.
Dr. Craig is available for phone consultation and questions, for our existing clients, at no charge - as always.
Patty is hosting a Live Reiki Share on Wednesdays @ 1:00 on Facebook.
Patty's Distance Reiki sessions are on special this month as well - sliding scale beginning at $50.
Again, we are very sorry that we are unable to care for you in-person at this time. Like you, we are anxious for this crisis to be behind us. Please take care.
May God bless you,
Dr. Craig & Patty Craig
